OUR JOURNEY AT SWITZER COUNSELLING & PSYCHOTHERAPY ASSOCIATES

Switzer Counselling & Psychotherapy Associates began with Shauna Switzer's vision to create a compassionate and experienced therapy service for those in need. Our journey began in Georgetown, Ontario in 2018, where we opened our doors under the experienced leadership of Shauna Switzer along with psychotherapy interns, Abigail Robinson, and Ash Rawat. Initially, Abigail Robinson and Ash Rawat started as students and have since grown into highly qualified registered psychotherapists dedicated to providing top-tier care.

In 2019, Switzer Counselling expanded our reach by opening a second office in Oakville, Ontario. During this time, Abigail Robinson transitioned to Oakville full-time, taking the lead in our Oakville office.

Our team continued to grow with the addition of Jillian Ivany in 2021, who began as a student and, by 2023, transitioned to our Oakville office as a full-time therapist. In 2021, we welcomed Hayllie Durette to our Georgetown office and, in 2023, we were excited to bring on Amanda Moressa.

As we continued to expand and grow, we were pleased to introduce Devin Dos Santos as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in 2024. Additionally, Christina Sequeira joined us in 2024 as a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), and joined us as a full-time psychotherapist in 2025, bringing with her a fresh approach to therapy and mental health care. Over the years, our team has had the privilege of supporting countless individuals on their path to healing, and we remain committed to providing exceptional psychotherapy services to the Georgetown and Oakville communities, as well as clients across Ontario and Canada through virtual sessions.

  • Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT): Adapted from IPT, IPSRT is specifically designed for bipolar disorder. It combines interpersonal therapy with techniques to stabilize daily routines (such as sleep, exercise, and eating), which is crucial for managing mood fluctuations.
